Logicenters has signed a letter of intent with Axfood regarding the development and leasing of a logistics facility in B\u00e5lsta. The future logistics facility will be one of the largest and most modern in Europe for the distribution of food for both shops and e-commerce.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Logicenters has now signed a LOI with Axfood. This refers to the development of a logistics facility in B\u00e5lsta which is to beleased to Dagab, a purchasing and logistics company within the Axfood Group. The facility will be just over 100,000 m2<\/sup> in size and will have modern specifications. Logicenters will develop the logistics facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDeveloping a facility with an area equivalent to 14 football pitches will be a major project for us. We are very proud that Axfood has chosen to work with us and the letter of intent further proves that our offer is competitive,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>says Matthias Kettelhoit, Commercial Head at Logicenters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The site is strategically located at H\u00e5bo Lundby 2:8, just north of Stockholm. This is an attractive location, with close proximity to the international airport, the E18 motorway and the city of Stockholm. In addition, railway sidings run all the way into the site, which will facilitate the future transport infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The logistics facility will be one of the largest and most modern in Europe for the distribution of food for both retail and e-commerce. Standing thirty metres tall, the facility will accommodate refrigerated and freezer storage and will have environmental certification, something that is in line with Logicenters\u2019 strategy on sustainability and energy efficiency. The logistics facility will be fully operational in 2023 and will handle both deliveries and order picking for both Axfood’s retail stores and e-commerce customers. The establishment will also create many job opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith a joint highly automated logistics centre \u2013 for all temperature zones \u2013 we will be both more efficient and more flexible in addressing the future development in the food retail industry. This will also strengthen our customer offering, as we will be able to keep an expanded assortment in stock and fulfil orders faster and more sustainably<\/em>,\u201d says Nicholas Pettersson, President of Dagab, Axfood\u2019s purchasing and logistics company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
